Course Details
Throughout this course, you will build on your ability to deliver outstanding colour services. Balayage is now a staple in the hairdressers service menu, however it’s no secret that this is a time consuming endeavour.
As well as classic balayage techniques, you’ll learn the art of freehand colour and be able to give your clients the feel of a total colour revamp, with careful colour placement. Saving both you and your client time.
Who’s it for?
If you’re currently a colourist, but not totally confident with your balayage or freehand ability, then this course is for you. We’re here to show you the techniques we use in the salon every day that work.
Required Equipment
- 2 – 3 combs in various lengths
- Colour combs (e.g. pin tail)
All other equipment will be provided.
Course Length
This course runs on 2 consecutive days over Tuesday & Wednesday, 10am – 4.30pm.
The day will commence with a detailed demonstration in the morning, with a practical workshop in the afternoon.
All students will be provided with a professional blockhead, however you may bring your own model should you wish.

The key to a happy client is a great consultation. Your clients will remember how attentive you are when listening to them more than anything else you do during their appointment. Learning to listen to their needs whilst assessing factors of their lifestyle, how much time they like to spend on their hair, their face shape, skin tone, etc. This will put you in the best possible position to make constructive suggestions on what will work for that individual. It makes your life a great deal easier and enables you to set solid expectations for your client before you even begin.
Balayage Techniques
Learn the classic balayage techniques both in foil, cling-film and left open. These vary for different levels of life required & how much time you’re working with.
Freehand Colour Placement
Learn freehand colour placement to revamp your clients style on budget & on time!
Face Framing
Learn face framing! With this quick 15-20 minute add on to your service value you could increase your service by 50%! A great upsell and the perfect service to get those who aren’t having colour into it.
